Two certificates listing the names of men enlisted and mustered into the services of the U.S., from Augusta, Me. (1862) and Portland, Me. (1865). John M. Harding enlisted at Camp Jameson in Augusta (16th Maine Regiment); Henry Chase and Frank M. Stevens mustered in Portland; and Joseph Gilman was mustered in Augusta and received in Portland. File also includes ms. receipt listing named persons receiving sums of money to aid soldiers' families in 1865, signed by Charles Littlefield, justice of the peace.
